Samir founded the practice in 1960. His innovative approach merging modernism, context and heritage proved to be influential in the shaping of the regional contemporary architectural scene. Over the past six decades, his commitment to creativity, excellence and ethics has attracted several international citations and awards.<\/p>\n
Samir received his Bachelor in Architecture at the University of California at Berkeley, where he studied under William Wurster and Charles Eames. The lively and diverse cultural scene of the time allowed him to come in touch with influential figures such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Buckminster Fuller and Paul Rudolph with whom he later collaborated on the design of an Urban Complex in Beirut. Samir was a member of the Faculty of Architecture at the American University of Beirut from 1960 to 1974 and a visiting lecturer at the College of Architecture and Fine Arts at the University of Damascus. He has since been a regular guest visitor at various architectural institutions.
